‘Look, Listen & Read the 70s’:  Halesworth Library

A selection of the best books,  music and film from the Seventies were made available to borrow and enjoy


‘The Seventies on Display’:     Halesworth and District Museum

A community display of images, artefacts and memorabilia assembled by the people of Halesworth and District.


‘Get Smashed’:    The Cuts Art Centre, New Cut, Halesworth

A presentation of Seventies TV ads, by Chloe Veale, Director of the History of Advertising Trust which featured a  nostalgic selection from the nation’s press and TV advertising archives, reflecting everyday British life in the 1970s.


Queen II:       The Cuts Art Centre, New Cut, Haleworth

A great tribute band, playing the best of Queen’s music from the 70s


‘Celebrating the Seventies’:  Patrick Stead Hospital Grounds

At the Friends of Patrick Stead Hospital Summer Fete


Halesworth’s ‘Back to the Seventies’ Carnival:  Halesworth Town Park

A procession through the Town to Halesworth Town Park for a fairground and trade stalls, food outlets, charity stalls and entertainment!


70s-themed meal:  St Mary’s Church Hall

A evening which served some favourite dishes from the 1970s.  Many attended in 70s costumes!


The Cut Seventies Weekend:  The Cut Arts Centre, New Cut, Halesworth

‘Rolling Stoned’:

Tribute band featuring songs from the 70s

‘American Hustle’:


A showing of the hit Seventies comedy-drama  ‘American Hustle’ followed by a 70s-style disco


The Glamtastic Waveney Amplifier Summer Showcase:   The Cut Arts Centre New Cut, Halesworth

Local 11-18 year olds provided their own interpretation of glam with the odd 70s cover number


 THE SHREW IN the 70s

Circle 67 brought their hour-long adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Taming of the Shew’, set in the hotly feminist years of the 1970s, to a range of venues in the area.

Planet Abba:  The Cut Arts Centre, New Cut, Halesworth
