Scouting in Halesworth

There has been scouting in Halesworth from at least 1911 when the Church Lads Brigade formed an ‘Independant Scout Patrol’. In 1916 the current Scout Group was founded when a Boy Scout Troop was created.

This year is the Centenary of 1st Halesworth Scout Group, a scout group that is still offering Scouting to Halesworth and the local villages.

WE have some of the Museums and the Scout Groups images, we know there are more to be found. On 9th April the Scout Group is holding an open day in the Scout Hall in Chediston Street. Please let us use you memories, mementoes and pictures in the exhibition to be held on this day.

Contact Brian Howard at the Museum to find out how you can help.
