This is a complete gold late Medieval/post Medieval gold finger ring. It was found by metal detectorists in Linstead Magna. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section. Both faces feature crude, blundered pseudo-inscriptions, seemingly imitating a capitalised Roman script. On the outer face there are two lines of inscription and on the inner a single line. The ring has been distorted with the two inner sides pushed together.
The inscription on the ring, outside top, outside bottom and inside. The meaning of the text is unknown. If anyone has any ideas please do let us know.
