Halesworth Museum – Summer Opening Times
We are opening the Museum for two more afternoons this summer, making our opening hours longer than ever before. The extra afternoons will be Fridays and Saturdays.
The opening hours are now: (from next week)

- Tuesdays 10:00am to 12:30pm
- Wednesdays 10:00am to 4:00pm
- Thursdays 10:00am to 12:30pm
- Fridays 10:00am to 4:00pm
- Saturdays 10:00am to 4:00pm
- Sundays Closed

Group visits are welcomed but must be pre-arranged.
There is easy access for the disabled.
Planning Your Visit
The Museum is at: Halesworth Station, Station Road, less than five minutes’ walk from the town centre.
Entrance is free, though donations are welcomed.
Toilets: On site including Radar accessible access.
Disabled Access: Ramped entrance. Wheelchair access throughout
Parking: If there are spaces in the station car park this can be used by Museum visitors and has spaces for the disabled. As from 1 July 2019 Greater Anglia are charging to use the car park. As we were not consulted we do not know if fees apply to Museum visitors, please ask when you visit the Museum.
There is a pay and display car park at the bottom of Station Road, five minutes walk and there is parking in the Middle Car Park where the first hour is free.
Family History
We have many local directories and access to some census information.
We are happy for you to access this at the Museum; preferably by prior appointment.
We can also undertake some research for you if you cannot get to the Museum. We do this freeof charge, however a donation will be welcome, most resurch takes many hours.
Educational Visits
School groups are welcome by appointment. In house activities and Discover Halesworth – an activity town trail. Teachers are advised to make a preliminary visit to plan and cost activities.
Publications
We have a large numbers of books and booklets for sale on local topics, look for the bookshop tab.
Reminiscence Boxes
The museum has a wide a varied collection which can support the school curriculum.
Teacher Resource Boxes are available for World War II, Fossils, Romans,
Victorians, Blacksmith’s craft and Seaside Holidays-getting there..
We also have Rekindling Memories boxes, which have been created for Care Homes and carers. We are happy for these services to be offered free, but if you can make a donation that would be great.
Halesworth Town Trail
Halesworth has a marked Town Trail. The Museum has a free leaflet describing the Trail. Do give it a try!
